my landscapes seem to get quite a different treatment if they have trees in them, maybe this is an emotional response to the subject. Landscapes without trees seem to get reduced down to there simplest possible form ie into blocks of colour. Treed landscapes are much softer and seem to offer more scope for exploring more involved compositions.
